About Me

I have experienced many challenging situations in my own life and this has given me the desire to help and empower others. I pride myself on being a good listener and have a positive empathetic approach towards my clients’ issues.  I have supported people through many different life changing situations.  I am experienced with working with children and young people of all ages and have CRB certification.
 
You can be assured that when you leave your session you will feel much better than when you arrived and will have the desire to begin making real changes for the better in your life. I passionately believe that we all have the right to live the kind of life we dream of; sometimes we just need help and support to guide us in the direction that we want to go.

   

What is hypnosis?

Hypnotherapy Explanation

Hypnosis is a deep state of relaxation during which suggestions are made to create beneficial changes in ideas or behaviour. The subconscious mind controls the involuntary functions of the body including habits and things that we do automatically. It is fuelled by our emotions and imaginations and directs the energy from within.

Our Memories

The subconscious mind contains memories of every single thing that has occurred to us. In hypnosis the mind is very receptive to new ideas and open to suggestions which can encourage more balanced or helpful attitudes.

Mind and Body

Mind and body affect each other and the person as a whole benefits from this holistic approach. In the clinical setting symptoms associated with stress or anxiety can be helped. In such cases it is not a substitute for medical treatment but a very useful supplement to it.

Number of Sessions

The number of sessions required varies from person to person however most people feel that they benefit from hypnotherapy immediately. How many sessions you feel you need is up to you.

What can I expect from a session?

When you meet me for the first time you will explore exactly what you want to achieve and how hypnotherapy may help.

Hypnotherapy works with the power of your subconscious mind, and can often create positive benefits in a relatively short time.

Hypnotherapy is acknowledged by the Royal Society of Medicine, as an effective therapy for a whole variety of issues.

As an ethical therapist I will work with you to enhance your well-being, and will not do anything to make you feel foolish or uncomfortable.

Qualifications

I have always been fascinated by the power of hypnosis, and combining hypnosis with talking therapy is the perfect tool to instigate real change in your life. I trained in Cambridge and gained a diploma in hypnotherapy and counselling skills. I am a professional member of the National Hypnotherapy Society and I am on the accredited voluntary register which is recognised by the professional standards authority.
 

My training has given me the confidence and skills to empower my clients to take charge of their own lives.

I work according to the National Hypnotherapy Society code of ethics and all work I undertake is confidential and will not be shared unless there is a need to contact a clients medical professional.

FAQs

Can anyone be hypnotised? 

Most people can be hypnotised as long as they are able to understand the things they need to do in order to achieve this state.

Will I be aware of what is happening or being said whilst I am in the hypnotic trance? 

Yes, you will feel deeply relaxed but will never lose contact with the hypnotherapist’s voice.

Can I be made to say or do anything against my will whilst I am in hypnosis? 

No, clinical hypnosis is not the same as stage hypnosis. You will be free to accept or reject any suggestions made.

What will happen if I don't come out of a trance or something happens to the hypnotherapist before I am brought out? 

You would simply come out of the trance naturally. No one has ever remained in a trance indefinitely.

When I am in hypnosis, am I unconscious or asleep? 

No, you are in a state half way between being asleep and awake.

Will I be able to drive after? 

Yes you will be feeling relaxed but your actions and reactions will be functioning normally.
